Martyn's Law - Are You Prepared?

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025—known as Martyn’s Law—will soon require all UK venues and organisations to take specific steps to improve public safety.

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025—known as Martyn’s Law—will soon require all UK venues and organisations to take specific steps to improve public safety.

Named in memory of Martyn Hett, who lost his life in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack, the law introduces clear legal duties based on venue size. Whether you host events or operate spaces with high footfall, you’ll need to have procedures in place to assess threats and respond effectively.

The law is not yet in force, but it is coming—and businesses will be expected to comply. A two-year implementation window is planned, giving you time to prepare.

Now is the time to ask:
– Do your team know what to look for?
– Do they know how to respond if something happens?
– Are your current procedures fit for purpose?

Martyn’s Law is about readiness. Start thinking now about how your organisation will meet the new requirements.
